Chromebook Cart Management Tips-
- Label devices with number and cart
- Assign a number
- Have the Chromebook number be the student's class number
- Charge every night
- Set-up start pages
- Pin important apps
- Set default behavior to lock because students forget to log out
- Use a Google Calendar for cart sign-out
- If classes are using the Chromebooks right after another, rather than putting them back on the cart, have the class walk them over to the next class

Logging in for the first time can be a challenging process. It can be a two person job. I am available to assist you with this and do an "Intro to Chromebook Lesson" with you and your class.

1. Login to the Chromebook.
2. Practice pinning and unpinning apps.
3. Check out some apps in the Chrome Web Store.
4. Download and play with some apps that interest you from the Chrome Web Store.

Activity Four: Google Drive
Here is a BASICS OF GOOGLE DRIVE TUTORIAL. Please watch if you need to.
Please take the time to do the following:
1. Partner off- Google Drive Beginner with a Google Drive Frequent User.
2. In partners-
3. Individually, experiment with Google Form. Here is a helpful video- Google Forms: Google Drive's Hidden Jem. Forms is one of my favorite tools! There are so many uses! 79 Interesting Ways to
use Google Forms in the Classroom.
4. Please make sure you understand sharing and the various permissions. Ask a classmate if you
do not understand and need clarification:)
Please take the time to do the following:

- Create a folder in Google Drive. Call it test.
- Compose a one paragraph funny story about conferences. One document, each person working on their own Chromebook. How will you do this??? Watch how it saves automatically for you and if your partner makes a boo boo you can revert back to an older version!
- Move this story into your test folder.
- Create a Google Slide Presentation. One presentation, each person working on their own Chromebook. How will you do this??? Create a four slide presentation on Upton that includes text, pictures, transitions and a video. Again, it will save automatically and you can revert back to a previous revision if needed.
- Move this presentation into your test folder.

Activity Five: Google Classroom:
If you would like to give items to students and have students submit items to you digitally, I highly suggest Google Classroom. It will make this process more streamline. As an educator, you can get to Google Classroom by going to your Apps menu or through Chrome and searching for Google Classroom. Below is a brief introduction to Google Classroom.

How do I integrate Chromebooks with instruction?
The possibilities are endless. Not only do you have great Google tools (Docs, Slides, Form) but you can also use web-based tools and apps. It is best to take a step back and think about what you are teaching, the objective, and what you want students to get out of the lesson---then technology comes into play...AND I am always here to help:) Trust me, once you start exploring possibilities on how to use these Chromebooks your ideas won't stop!
